I value a healthy ecosystem therefore prefer to catch and release for future generations. That said, sometimes it may be suitable for a dinner fish. If you are looking for a meat trip - that’s not me.

Life is better on the water! Anytime you can go fishing in the keys is a good time. That said, the cooler water temperatures in the winter months can influence the activity and migrations of certain species. Once the water warms up, the fish are happy and moving!

Absolutely! I am a year-round fly fishing guide therefore, I provide you with tailored instruction from learning how to to cast a fly rod to advanced saltwater techniques for the more experienced angler.

Practice. Practice. Practice. It is essential for fly anglers to cast accurately with minimal false casts. The double-haul technique is essential to be able to cast 60 ft to a dinner plate. Having this ability will help maximize your chance of success for those prized opportunities.
Practice your casting and learn to do it in the wind. Whether throwing a crab to a permit with a spinning rod or chucking a fly at a tarpon, good casting skills are essential to angling success when sight fishing. Practicing your casting whether with a spinning rod or fly rod before a trip will pay huge dividends in the end. Believe me, you do not want to be facing down a string of one hundred pound tarpon while “getting the rust out” of your casting arm.
